Recap:

The goal in HCI (Human computer interaction) is to make computer technology and science reachable and understandable for everyone.

There are 4 methods for HCI to investigate threads and behaviors:

As a designer you often have to observe people, experience things, visit places, change your perspective to understand better your target group or the circumstances/surroundings they live in. However there is a limitation in body storm I wasn't aware of. In this lecture we discussed that you can't have a real body storm if you for example body storm life as a homeless person or sick person. Because at the end of the day you get to go back to your normal life.

Personal experience/thoughts:

I once did an interview for an art project with a homeless person (Sim) in France and while sitting down next to him I noticed how people looked down at us and weren't decent about making their prejudgements loud. I think the closest way to get an insight on certain lives is not to put yourself in their shoes, it's about getting to know them, their story and circumstances at eye level and in their surroundings under their conditions.
