In this week we talked about the importance of user experience in our design process. As a designer you have the responsibility to not only create things that will bring you money and success, but that are also sustainable and honest. And what fascinated me is that there is no total failure or success. Every single device, service can lead to a complete change of the market.
Experience design can be the key to success. Because if you do enough user research, you get closer to your core audience, get insights on their needs, behaviors and dreams and can develop things that they'll buy that fit into their lives. Also I find it very interesting to see how different others interact with a device or service than I.
Personal experience/thoughts:
I also think that it's because of experience design exhibitions that I study interaction design. I first got in touch with interaction design at the "Lilu Lichtfestival Luzern". I remember that I was walking along the Lake when I heard a piano play. So I followed the sound and ended up standing in front of a stage that was free for everyone to use. Every melodie played on the stage piano created a new and different background. For me it was game changing to see that someone can change the experience of listening to music to seeing it in colors, forms and movements.
